We ended our month with a fun unit full of Fairy Tales. We explored 8 different fairy tales. We enjoyed 3 Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, The Little Red Hen, Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, The Ugly Duckling, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and Hansel and Gretel.
We talked about some things that fairy tales have in common and how we can learn things from fiction stories. We played lots of games working on cooperation, turn taking and delayed gratification. We added some STEM learning to our days creating bridges for goats and we used play dough to create disguises for the big bad wolf.
Our friends took a lesson from the Little Red Hen and used our locally available food of the month, beef, to make our very own cheesy tacos!
Our crafting allowed us to make our very own trolls and some magic wands. We put ourselves in the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and broke out the old turntables to make some pretty sweet, spin art.
No matter what the story was, we all had a great “happily ever after” each day at Share and Care.
